    The portfolio Conspiracy: the Artist as Witness, was produced by The Center for Constitutional Rights, David Godine, publisher, to raise funds for The Chicago Eight. These political activists were tried for "conspiracy to incite riots" in anti-war demonstrations at the 1968 Democratic National Convention. Artists in the portfolio included Alexander Calder, Romare Bearden, Claes Oldenburg, Bridget Riley, Frank Stella, and Sol Lewitt.
