 Harold Bruder studied at the Cooper Union from 1948 until 1951, as well as at the Pratt Institute and The New School, all in New York. By 1960, he had his first solo exhibition at the Robert Isaacson Gallery in New York. Since then, his work has been included in numerous solo and group exhibitions at museums across the country, including the Corcoran Gallery of Art (Biennial), Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (Annual), Baltimore Museum of Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Kansas City Art Museum. Gallery exhibitions include five early solo shows at Forum Gallery in New York and two at Durlacher Brothers in New York. Bruder’s work is held in a number of public collections, including the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Montclair State Museum, and the New Jersey State Museum. He taught for more than thirty years at Queens College, CUNY in New York.
