Born in Florence, Rodolfo Marma studied there at the Academia di Belle Arti with Ugo Capocchini, receiving his diploma in 1948. Between 1956 and 1958, he lived and worked in New York. Although he made his life in Italy, he returned several times over the years to the New York area. Marma’s works have been included in numerous solo and group shows in Italy, France, Germany, and the United States. From the 1950s until the 1970s, his paintings were exhibited in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Ohio, in both group and solo shows. Most notably, he had a solo exhibition at the Rabin and Krueger Gallery in Newark in 1965. His paintings may be found in private and public collections in Italy and the States, including the Galleria d’Arte Moderna and Museo delle Oblate, both in Florence.
